MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center Announces Promotion and New Appointment to Senior Leadership 02/19/2013 |
Baltimore—MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center announces the promotion of Larry Strassner, PhD, RN, FACHE, NEA-BC, Vice President of Patient Care and Chief Nursing Officer, to Senior Vice President for Operations. In this new role, Strassner will oversee the day-to-day professional and support service operations of MedStar Franklin Square, as well as the hospital’s clinical service lines. He will continue to serve as Chief Nursing Officer and lead the recruitment process for a new Vice President of Inpatient Nursing Operations. Strassner joined Franklin Square in 2003 as Administrative Director of the Medicine Service Line. The following year he was appointed Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer. He began his career at Good Samaritan Hospital as a nurse in the Critical Care Unit. He has served in different roles of increasing responsibility at Johns Hopkins Hospital including Assistant Director for Surgery and Director of Case Management. Prior to joining Franklin Square, he was Director of Critical Care at Suburban Hospital. Strassner holds an associate of arts degree in nursing from the Community College of Baltimore County — Essex Campus, bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from the University of Maryland and a PhD in Health Administration from Warren National University Annette Theis joins MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center in the new role of Vice President for Physician & Ambulatory Services Management. Theis is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of physician and ambulatory programs on the MedStar Franklin Square campus and throughout several sites in Baltimore and Harford counties. Theis has nineteen years of physician management expertise, the latter of which has been with the Florida Hospital Medical Group in Orlando. She comes to MedStar Franklin Square with extensive experience in physician and ambulatory management as well as a solid understanding of the importance of workflow and productivity improvement, information systems and revenue cycle enhancement. Theis holds a bachelor’s degree from Nova Southeastern University and a master’s degree in health services administration from St. Joseph’s College. Headshots available upon request. |
