Endoscopic and Endobronchial Ultrasound
Endoscopic and endobronchial ultrasound is an advanced diagnostic technology that provides real-time imaging of abnormalities inside the chest.
At MedStar Franklin Square, we offer superDimension™/Bronchus system at the same time as endoscopic and endobronchial ultrasound–no need to make two trips, or have two surgical procedures that require anesthesia.
A highly effective diagnostic tool
Endoscopic and endobronchial ultrasounds are so effective they can sometimes eliminate additional phases of testing.
The real-time technology used in endoscopic and endobronchial ultrasounds has a long learning curve, and few physicians have received the training to perform it accurately.
MedStar Franklin Square's William S. Krimsky, MD, an interventional pulmonologist, is in the first IP in the state of Maryland to do these experienced in endoscopic ultrasound for the tracheobronchial tree (the tree-like structure that that supplies air to the lungs). Learn more about interventional pulmonology.
Dr. Krimsky trains other interventional pulmonologists from the United States to do these procedures, and we are designated as an Official Olympus Center of Excellence Training Center.
