Samuel E. Moskowitz, FACHE
President, MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center, and Senior Vice President, MedStar Health
Samuel E. Moskowitz is president of MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center and a senior vice president for MedStar Health. With 433 licensed beds and a team of 3,450 medical and administrative professionals, MedStar Franklin Square is Maryland’s fourth largest hospital and one of 10 hospitals in the MedStar Health system.
From 1993 to 2012, Moskowitz served in several senior management positions at Mercy Health Services in Baltimore, Md. Most recently, he served as executive vice president and chief operating officer. In this role, he was responsible for the daily oversight and day-to-day operations of all services and clinical programs on the Mercy Medical Center campus in downtown Baltimore. Prior to joining Mercy, Moskowitz held posts at the University of Maryland Medical System in Baltimore including assistant vice president and director of Strategic Program Development.
Moskowitz has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa, and received a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Governors State University, where he was recognized as the Foster G. McGaw Scholar. In 1993, Moskowitz was named as the Outstanding Alumnus in the College of Health Professions at Governors State University.
He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Society for Health Care Strategy and Market Development, and the Maryland Association for Healthcare Executives. Moskowitz also sits on the boards of directors for Chizuk Amuno Congregation and Krieger Schechter Day School, where he currently serves as board chair.
Frequently, Moskowitz is a guest lecturer on healthcare strategic planning and new healthcare delivery models.
