Participants will learn how researchers blend their unique strengths across different disciplines to create innovative practices and new knowledge. “The event showcases the diverse research strengths within Franklin Square Hospital Center, the MedStar Health Research Institute, and the MedStar system, and will guide healthcare professionals to develop innovative ways to work together constructively, which inevitably leads to new knowledge and better outcomes for those we serve,” says Kim Shanahan MS, BSN, RN Chair, FSHC Evidence-based Practice and Research Council. Keynote speaker for the event will be Nancy King Reame, MSN, PhD, FAAN, from the Irving Institute for Clinical and Translational Research at Columbia University in New York. Also presenting will be Vicki R. Lewis, PhD, scientific director of the National Center for Human Factors Engineering in Healthcare, a division of the MedStar Health Research Institute and the MedStar Institute for Innovation. Other speakers include Eun-Shim Nahm, PhD, RN, FAAN, of the University of Maryland School of Nursing, Hayley Mark, PhD, MPH, RN, of the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing and Kevin Frick, PhD, MA of the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health.
