Franklin Square Kicks Off Another Fit and Healthy School Year With A Rally for Health 09/14/2011 |

Parents are scrambling to get back into their routine–getting homework done and lunches packed. But have they taken the time to educate themselves and their children on the importance of being fit and healthy? Franklin Square Hospital Center and the community can help! Franklin Square will host a free, fun and educational community event that will give children and their families an opportunity to learn important health, safety and nutrition information to start a fit and healthy school year. The 3rd Annual Back-to-School Rally for Health will be held on Saturday, September 17 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Franklin Square’s Crawford Conference Center. This sports-themed event will feature an Asthma Fair, health and safety information, a physical challenge course, healthy snacks and smoothies, the Parent Mobile, a make a first aid kit station, a souvenir photo, story time, raffles, giveaways, airbrush tattoos and a special appearance by Maria Dennis from MIX 106.5! Community organizations attending the event include the Maryland Poison Control Center, the Baltimore County Police Department, the Perry Hall YMCA, the Baltimore County Public Library, the Baltimore County Health Department, and Baltimore County Public Schools.
